Horses and French Fries

Driving home from work a few days ago, I began to think about one of my favorite animals: the horse.

Oh how I long to have lived in the day when the horse was the preferred method of transportation. To ride such a noble animal to and from work would be heaven. (Provided I didn’t work so far from home – the current miles traveled would probably take most of my required 8 hours in the saddle.) The thought is so peaceful. No honking horns, being cut off on horse-back really isn’t so bad and rush hour wouldn’t feel so…rushed.

Then I quickly panicked: how would drive-through windows work?

While I have a love for horses and the saddle, I do have a love for french fries as well. Mmmm…so salty, crispy and warm. Would saddle bags be enough to do the trick? Could there be a cup holder that one could attach to a western saddle horn?

The notion of riding my gallant steed to work was short lived.

But just imagine…horses and french fries on the next drive home. Or horses and donuts on your next drive to work.
