Eastland Alpacas open house this past weekend was wonderful! This FREE event was hosted on their sprawling farm in Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania. On Sunday afternoon when we went, it seemed like a decent sized crowd. Most of all, the smile on every child’s face showed just how well appreciated the event was!

While the alpacas are the main attraction, families also enjoyed wagon rides, refreshments, obstacle course demonstrations and refreshments! I learned that the gestation period is 11 months for alpacas; their fur is harvested only once a year; and baby alpacas are called crias! A farm store was also open with some beautiful alpaca clothing, gifts and accessories.
What’s better – the open house continues this weekend on November 14 and 15!
